Serving Kennebunkport and neighboring communities since 1979.

Beginning in 1979 with a donated Cadillac Ambulance and a small corps of dedicated volunteers from our community the goal at Kennebunkport Emergency Medical Services (KEMS) has been simple: extraordinary care and public service.  KEMS is a private, nonprofit, Advanced Life Support EMS agency that provides emergency medical care to the residents of the Town of Kennebunkport and mutual aid support to Arundel, Kennebunk, and Biddeford. For more on our history, click here.

A. Through the Kennebunkport Fire Department you can buy, at a one-time cost, a system called “Knox Box”. The box you buy can be mounted over a door or on an access exterior location. This box is the key required to gain entry. A special key to access the box is carried on the Fire trucks and A-1. The individual who needs the key has a special code to remove and return the key and when removed and returned our dispatch center is notified so unauthorized people do not have access to the key.
